You are viewing Arrow Tipi's Internet Site. Arrow Tipi also has a Real World Site. It may be seen from the "big bridge" on Highway 6 just south of Burton BC, Canada.  Go south of the bridge and take the first road down to the beach. There is a rough yet passable road right to our ancient, beater, long term test, beach gazebo, bill board, ancient 18ft tipi.  View from bridge.---->

Many people see the tipi from the bridge and come down to have a look.  When staff at Arrow Tipi want to discuss smoke flap theory they ride their bikes out to the tipi. Every full moon there is a party there. Everyone is welcome.  On the 24th of May weekend the local teens use it for their annual camp out during Burton Days.

Looking north up the Columbia River (Arrow Lakes.) In the summer months the lake sometimes floods the tipi site.  We take down the canvas, the poles and the site get a great rinse.  (July and August)  The lake leaves lots of camp fire driftwood.  This is the spiritual centre of our company.  Keeping the tipi here is the technological centre.  We test everything here.

Looking due west down the Lower Arrow Lake. The wind blew 30 MPH and dumped more than 2 feet of snow on the west side of the tipi.  The weight of the snow applied by the wind caved in the tipi, folded it back on itself and flattened it.  This picture was taken in the spring.  We repaired it and put it up with stronger poles. One of the many tipi adventures we call "Product Testing and Development."
Fall 2002....After years of abuse and experimentation the old tipi was looking pretty worn. On a whim we decided to replace rather than repair after the summer flooding hiatus. As a result,  a brand new 18 foot tipi "off the shelf" was installed at the site. Another round of testing and fun begins.
