Taking down a dry tipi:

1. Remove door.
2. Carefully remove smoke flap poles.
3. Remove pegs.
4. Remove lacing pins.
5. Fold the tipi on the poles, as described in the tipi folding section.
6. Lower the lifting pole, and the tipi.
7. Untie tipi from lifting pole.

Tipis should always be repaired and refolded before storing.

If the poles are to come down... Unwrap the tripod rope. Take the poles down in reverse order from pitching. lower tripod poles. remove tripod rope (tripod rope should always be re-tied.) Store poles standing up or off the ground. Care should be taken to avoid breaking poles.

If the poles are to stay up... Replace the lifting pole and smokeflap poles in the original lifting pole space.
